Privacy Policy: Treeport: Mind Map Exporter for Gemini Notebook™

Treeport ("the Extension") is published by CCE Partners LLC ("we", "us"), 2501 Chatham Rd #4369, Springfield, IL 62704, USA. Contact: chris@hichrisgrant.com. This policy applies to the Google Chrome version of the Extension, distributed through the Chrome Web Store.

Summary

• The Extension turns the mind map you are viewing in Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) into a file that your browser downloads. Your notebook content is processed only inside your browser. It is never sent to us, to our payment providers or to anyone else.
• The only network contact is ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com), our payment provider, used for licence checks only (plus Pro checkout, restore and subscription management through ExtensionPay's pages). Export processing is fully local: your mind map is never sent anywhere. We run no server that receives data from the Extension, and the Extension has no analytics, telemetry, advertising or tracking.
• Free users who have never picked a plan or restored a purchase never contact ExtensionPay. Treeport contacts no server while you use the free formats (Markdown, OPML). Clicking "Upgrade to Pro" only shows the plan choices and contacts no server. Treeport contacts ExtensionPay only when you start a Pro export, start or restore Pro (pick a plan: Monthly, Yearly, Lifetime, "Compare all plans" or "Manage subscription"; or click Restore purchase), or visit ExtensionPay's own pages (such as its checkout or subscription-management pages). If you have never picked a plan or restored a purchase, there is no installation key and nothing is sent. These requests send only an installation key, never your mind map, notebook titles or URLs. While one of ExtensionPay's pages is open, ExtensionPay's library can re-check your status about once per second for up to two minutes, without any click in Treeport.
• Payment data is handled only for Pro buyers. The ExtensionPay and Stripe section below applies only if you buy Pro, or start to by picking a plan or clicking Restore purchase. If you use only the free exports, no payment or account data is created.

What the Extension accesses

• The Gemini Notebook tab you are viewing (notebook.google.com), only when you click the Treeport button. The mind map is read from the page and converted to a file in your browser.
• activeTab and scripting: when you click the Extension's button, these let it load its own packaged exporter code into that one tab. They give no access to other tabs or sites.
• Google's sandbox frame (*.scf.usercontent.goog, optional permission): Gemini Notebook renders mind maps in a Google-hosted sandbox frame (*.scf.usercontent.goog); access is requested on your click, used only in the open Notebook tab, read locally, never transmitted. The frame's address changes on every page load, so Chrome asks you to allow Google's sandbox domain as a whole. You can decline, or remove it at any time in Chrome's extension settings.

Pro purchases: what ExtensionPay and Stripe receive (Pro buyers only)

Pro is optional: $3.99 per month, $24 per year, or $34 one-time (lifetime), and adds JSON, FreeMind (.mm), Mermaid, SVG and PNG exports. Like the free formats, these files are created inside your browser; very large maps are saved as SVG instead of PNG. It is sold through ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com), a payment service for browser extensions, and paid through Stripe, which processes the card payment.

• The first time you pick a plan or click Restore purchase: the Extension asks ExtensionPay to create an installation key, a random identifier for your copy of the Extension. This request contains no personal data, but like any web request it reveals your IP address and browser type to ExtensionPay. The Extension then opens ExtensionPay's checkout page in a new tab (or, for Restore purchase, ExtensionPay's login page in a small window).
• On the checkout pages (ExtensionPay / Stripe Checkout): you type your email address and payment details directly into those web pages, not into the Extension. Stripe processes the payment details. ExtensionPay receives your email address and the purchase record (for example plan, amount, date, paid status and, for subscriptions, renewal or cancellation status) and links them to your installation key. The Extension never sees your card details.
• Licence checks (once you have an installation key: each time you start a Pro export, and whenever you visit one of ExtensionPay's own pages, such as its checkout, payment-confirmation or subscription-management pages, when the check can repeat about once per second for up to two minutes without any click in Treeport): to know whether Pro is unlocked, the Extension sends ExtensionPay your installation key, and nothing else from the Extension. ExtensionPay answers with your licence status (whether and when you paid, the email linked to the purchase, and plan or trial fields if any). The Extension itself uses only the paid / not-paid answer.
• ExtensionPay's pages: the Extension includes ExtensionPay's small script that runs only on extensionpay.com pages, so those pages can tell the Extension when a purchase is complete or your subscription has changed. That starts the repeated licence check described above (installation key only).
• Managing or cancelling a subscription: done on ExtensionPay's pages.
• Using Pro on another device: nothing syncs between devices (see below), so on a second computer click Restore purchase and log in on ExtensionPay's page with the email you paid with.
• Never sent to ExtensionPay or Stripe: your notebooks, mind maps, notes, sources or the pages you visit.
• What we receive: as the seller, CCE Partners LLC can see the purchase record (your email, plan, amount and date) in our ExtensionPay and Stripe accounts. We use it only for accounting, support and refunds, and keep it only as long as legally required.
• Stripe's privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy. ExtensionPay handles the data it receives as the payment service for this purchase (https://extensionpay.com). For questions about it, contact us and we will help.

What is stored in your browser

• The Extension stores no notebook or mind-map content. Exported files go to your Downloads folder like any other download, and you control them.
• Everything is kept in the browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local), on this device only. Nothing is stored in Chrome Sync, so nothing is copied to your other devices through your Google account.
• Treeport's own settings: your last-used export format (treeport.format) and whether Pro is unlocked (treeport.license: paid yes/no, plan type and when it was last checked). This is used only to show the right buttons; every Pro export is checked again with ExtensionPay.
• Whether you have asked for, or granted, access to Google's map sandbox frame (treeport.grant: requested or granted, and when). It contains no page data.
• When the Extension first loads, the ExtensionPay library records the date it was installed (extensionpay_installed_at), locally. This date is not sent anywhere.
• Only if you pick a plan or click Restore purchase: the ExtensionPay library also stores, locally, the installation key (extensionpay_api_key) and your latest ExtensionPay account status (extensionpay_user: paid status and date, the email you paid with, and plan or subscription fields).
• Uninstalling the Extension removes all of this from your browser.

What we do not do

• We do not collect, sell, rent or transfer your notebook content or browsing data.
• We use payment data only for the Pro purchase and licence check, and never for advertising, creditworthiness or lending.
• No remote code: all code, including ExtensionPay's library (ExtPay.js, minimally modified so it uses local storage instead of sync storage), ships inside the Extension package.
• The Extension's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Children

The Extension is not directed to children under 13.
